Frequently Asked Questions

People ask us a variety of questions about iGLO. Here's some of the more frequent ones with our answers.

Q:
Can this be used for other artificial lift methods than injected gas?

A: Yes. The software can do any number or type of "control handles" or "setpoints" to manage any number of performance measures (production, GOR, etc.).  It does not matter to the software, just that the setpoint changes must affect production (performance).

Q:
Should we start immediately with Optimization?

A: You can, but we recommend that you start with virtual metering, as that will give us information about how well optimization will work. This reduces your cost, your risk and enables us to build a relationship, quantify your possible gains and put together a better solution.

Q:
Must our instruments be on-line, digital?

A: Yes. The system should use digital oil field measurements to make real-time production estimates because you need the well operating conditions to put through the models to make the estimates.  Doing this by clipboard and manual entry is possible, but labor intensive.

Q:
What data is required?

A: Any data that characterizes the production. Typically, the following variables are useful (your terminology may vary):

=> Production while on test (oil, gas and perhaps water)
=> Lift Gas Injection Rate (or pump rpm, amps, etc.)
=> Casing Pressure
=> Flow Line Pressure
=> Flow Tubing Pressure
=> Flow Tubing Header Temperature
=> Down-Hole Pressures and Temperatures, if available.

You may request a document with more information.

Q:
What does iGLO cost?

A: It depends on the capability of what you want (virtual metering, or surveillance or optimization) and the breadth of the implementation, such as how many wells, platforms or other assets. Click the link below to send us an email to discuss your situation.

We make sure the ROI is excellent, so the cost is not a major concern.
